can come in.

Grant and revoke entry permissions in the same place as other ChipLogin access. When someone changes role or leaves, there are fewer separate systems to update.

What to consider when changing access control systems

How cards are verified, how permissions are managed, and which existing equipment can be retained.

UID-only cards can be copied

Systems that authorize a card from a readable UID alone do not verify a cryptographic secret. A copied UID can therefore be presented as the original; DESFire challenge-response is intended to address that specific weakness.

Permission changes across separate systems

When an employee leaves, you need to remove all their access. Shared management helps you keep track of what needs to change.

A new access control system does not have to mean replacing every cable.

We will review your existing installation and check which wiring and equipment can be kept.

How it works

The controller is installed in a low-voltage cabinet. We will assess whether wiring and readers can be retained based on your installation.

1

Your wiring stays

We will assess whether existing wiring can be reused with RS485/OSDP or an adapted Wiegand installation, and whether the controller fits your existing cabinet. Wiring and reader compatibility must be checked for each site.

2

Control unit in the cabinet

Sits in the low-voltage cabinet, holds the DESFire keys and offline policy, and keeps an mTLS connection to ChipLogin Server.

3

Verification and record

The card is verified cryptographically, the door unlocks, and the tap is signed into the audit trail.

Why ChipLogin for doors

Access control to suit your building.

One controller for multiple doors

A shared controller can serve multiple doors. We will recommend the number of controllers and their connections to suit your building.

Modular DIN rail

The modules mount on a DIN rail inside a control cabinet. We will review the installation documentation with your electrician or installation company.

One admin console, one audit trail

Grant and revoke access to computers, machines and doors from the same console. Manage changes in one place and review records across all three areas; when disconnected devices receive a change depends on the installation.

Hardware

A control unit for your existing low-voltage cabinet — the door reader is matched to your installation.

Control unit

A unit for your low-voltage cabinet. Holds an encrypted connection to ChipLogin Server, DESFire keys, and offline policy; evaluates authorization and switches the lock.

mounting: 35 mm DIN rail · bus: RS485 / OSDP / Wiegand · server: Ethernet, mTLS
